| SLEMCO provides retail electric power to
homes, businesses and industrial customers throughout the Louisiana
parishes of Acadia, Avoyelles, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette,
St. Landry, St. Martin and Vermilion. Established in 1937,
SLEMCO serves over 93,400 customers via 9,000 miles of energized
transmission and distribution lines.
SLEMCO also plays an active role in the southwest Louisiana
communities it serves through its scholarship programs, endowed
professorships, Operation Round-Up grants to needy individuals
and aggressive economic development activities.
